Arrival in Izmir, Ephesus, Boarding the Sea Cloud
Friday and Saturday
Carla and I arrived
into Izmir on Thursday so we had the day Friday to relax and get over our
jetlag.
Saturday was the official beginning of our trip, "traveling by luxury
motorcoaches to the premier archaeological wonder of the ancient world,
Ephesus" where we walked along streets where Paul walked in the first
century. The other notable fact about Ephesus was that it was about 115
degrees that day--even though it was a "dry heat" at 115 degrees
it is HOT!
After Ephesus we had lunch at the Kismet Hotel (Kismet means "will of
God" in Turkish) followed by a swim in the Aegean for some and the
lovely pool for others, before boarding the Sea Cloud, "the world's
most beautiful sailing yacht."
