Of course, when riding 'the tube' in London (the underground subway,
but
don't call it a subway because that
means an underground pedestrian
walkway...) it is important to
'mind the gap' |
Jason, the Thames, and Parliament
at sunset |
The London Eye, looking upthe Thames |
"Look kids, Big Ben!"
(Big Ben is actually not the tower or the
clock, but the bell inside...) |
Jason was not happy about taking this
picture, but how can you go to London
and not take your picture with 'bobbies?' |
Westminster Abbey, where England's
kings and queens have been crowned
since 1066.
We went to an "Evensong"
(Anglican daily service of prayer,
singing, Scripture reading)
service there which was a great way to see the
Abbey and 'experience' it as well. |
Big Ben at night, with the London Eye
in the background and a very English
cab in the foreground. |
Looking across the Thames at
Parliament and Big Ben. |
Another night view--London Eye,
Parliament, Big Ben. |
Me and Jason on the Golden Jubilee Bridge |
Tower Bridge in the distance |
The Milenium Bridge with St. Paul's
Cathedral. The Milenium Bridge
had to close shortly after opening
because it was wobbly, but has since
been re-opened. |
London traffic at night |
Trafalgar Sqaure, looking at
the National Gallery of Art which
contains works by Van Gogh, Monet,
Leonardo, and Rembrandt |
A Dianetics ad, in a tube station.
I thought it was interesting to see this,
so far from LA. |

The Entrance to Downing Street |
The royal horse stables with the
London Eye and the moon in
the background. |

Fun with shutter speeds... |

I took this picture of a theatre map
so that we would know where we were
going. Laila mocked, but it got us to
'Mama Mia' in time for the show! |
Piccadily Circus, London's version of
New York's Times Square, but not quite
as big. |
On the subway, trying to look natural. |
Me with a thousand tourists, in front
of Buckingham Pallace, waiting for the
changing of the guards. Too bad it
was cancelled that day...
