Me, waiting for the bus in St. Andrews...
and trying out my self-timer remote
control |
One of the beautiful lochs on the bus
ride from Dundee to Oban (basically
across Scotland, from the east coast
to the west). The bus driver, when
he found out it was my first trip,
proceeded to narrate for the entire
trip and even slowed down so that
I could take this picture. |
These are rapids near a falls on the trip.
Once again, the bus driver
dropped me off while he made his stop
so that I could take this
picture |
More remote control fun...in Oban. I had
four hours to wait for the ferry to Mull.
A bit after taking this picture a retired
civil engineer, motorhoming in the area,
sat down and proceeded to talk to
me for about 2.5 of the four hours--
needless to say, I felt right at home! |
The ferry boat to Mull, after which we had
an hour long bus ride to the drop off point
for Camas. |
A view of Oban, from the ferry. The
colosseum looking thing in the center is
called McCaig's Tower (or folly,
depending on who you ask) and was
intended to be an art gallery but was
never completed. |

Duart Castel, on Mull. It is the seat
of the Clan Maclean, and one of the
oldest inhabited castles in Scotland--built
in 1360. |
Morning chores at Camas (my first
morning I was on "toilets" which meant
emptying the plastic buckets for 'pee'
and 'poo' and cleaning them out...fun |
|
Typical of the scenery surrounding Camas |
A view of Camas and the bay |
Out searching for camping spots for our
24 hour solo. |
Me, with the view of Camas bay |
There were sheep everywhere--and sheep
poop everywhere too! |
Market Bay |
The beach and bay where I camped |
Another view of 'my' beach |
The tidal island in front of Camas |
The front lawn of Camas |

The anchor..rung to signal a meal or
meeting time |
