The West Coast and Galway

From Ballycastle we headed west through Donegal and Derry (a loyalist area) down to Galway. It was one of the longer days of driving, especially with being out late at the pub with Paul the fisherman the night before!

While wandering around in Galway we happened past a music store and hearing live music coming from it, stopped inside. It turns out it was Mickey Harte, who we found out the next night, via a tv special, is Ireland's 'You're a Star' winner. (You're a Star appears to be somewhat similar to 'American Idol.') So, when Mickey Harte takes the US music scene by storm, you can say you knew someone who heard him before he made it big, or at least before he made it big in the US!

At the mall. We stopped in this town to look around and wound up in a lane that was the queue for the mall's parking garage, so we went in for a look. Jerry was pretty excited for me to take this picture...

At the hostel where we stayed in Galway. The gloves and scarf are both because it was quite chilly in the room, and also because the sheets looked like they might not have been changed in this century, so we did not want to chance it!

Another random, 'typical' Ireland sight. The black blobs in front of the cars are cattle that were being herded down the street, in the middle of the street.
