Portugal: The Algarve Coast

February 2004

The Algarve is along Portugal's south coast. We flew into Faro where we were picked up and taken to Albufeira, the town where we stayed for the week. It was such a treat to spend a week in the sunshine (except for a wee bit of rain) and warm weather. I see why it is such a Brit holiday destination!

We took a day trip to Seville,
Spain (why? Because it is there,
of course!) This is in the
plaza de Espana

Here we were waiting out a

This is the tomb of Christopher Columbus
inside the cathedral in Seville. It is the third
largest cathedral in the world (to St. Peter's
in Rome and St. Paul's in London. For a
picture of St. Paul's from my
London trip, click here.)

it could have been Southern California!
